ENGLAND .- (AGENCIALAVOZ.ORG) promoter activist campaigns that deny the existence of God on buses and other media, is planning a legal ambush against the pope. The Times says Richard Dawkins tries that Benedict XVI is accused of "crimes against humanity" and arrested during his upcoming visit to British territory in September.
According to The Times, Richard Dawkins has commissioned several human rights lawyers to take the necessary steps to be arrested by Benedict XVI during his visit to British territory next September. Try to accuse him of "crimes against humanity" to cover up cases of pedophilia and sexual abuse committed by members of the Catholic Church. Dawkins and other prominent activist, writer Christopher Hitchens, believe they can use the same legal principle used in their day to arrest former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet when he visited the UK in 1998. Then they used a warrant issued by English judge Baltasar Garzon for the arrest. The promoters of the initiative believe that the pope can not claim diplomatic immunity to avoid arrest, because although it is a state visit, the Vatican has not recognized as such by the UN. The cases of pedophilia and sexual abuse by Catholic priests are coming to light in several countries.
